Purpose

Microsoft provides a feature for Outlook to tag external messages.

External tagging is an organization-wide setting that cannot be applied to a subset of users. DisableTagging sets the MAPI property IsExternalSender to false, preventing the External tag from appearing on incoming messages for the specified mailbox.

Current version: 1.0.4

Installation

  1. The flow uses the "Office 365 Outlook" connection. When importing the flow, use your existing connection or create a new one.

  2. Download the "DisableTaggingFlow104.zip" file.
  3. Open Power Automate and import "DisableTaggingFlow104.zip" as a new flow, following the Power Automate documentation.

Testing

These steps assume you have already enabled tagging via the Set-ExternalInOutlook cmdlet.

  1. Send a test message from any external address to your internal address.
  2. Open Outlook and verify that the message is not marked as external.
